Wolf Glen Tipis have been making and hiring tipis for more than 25 years, and supply tipis to some of the UK’s leading tipi camping and holiday companies.

Johnny gave up his training as an architect to follow a path closer to nature. Moy graduated from the renowned Glasgow School of Art and has had a successful career as an artist ever since. We pride ourselves in our professionalism and attention to detail. All our tipis are made using natural materials and individually sewn to your specification.

We use the traditional Sioux 3-pole design.

Tipi covers and linings are made from 12oz cotton canvas which is fire-retardant, waterproofed and rotproofed. Lacing pins, pegs, ropes and door cover are supplied. Covers have especially tough reinforcements at the lifting tongue and peg loops.

Poles are cut from local, sustainably managed plantations, using timbers such as Norway spruce, Sitka spruce, and Scots pine, hand-stripped and sanded to a smooth finish. Pegs are hand-cleft from local ash while lacing pins are made of larch, hazel, and willow.

Tipi footprints are egg-shaped! Sizes refer to the average diameter of the floor space:

10 ft – child’s tipi or garden shelter.
14 ft – good home for 1 or 2 people, camping, garden, or retreat.
16 ft – ideal for couple or small family, sleeps 4 comfortably.

18 ft – family size tipi, sleeps 6 comfortably.
21 ft – large tipi, suitable for festivals, workshops, weddings. Sleeps at least 8 comfortably.
23 ft – as above. Sleeps 10-12, and sometimes even more!
