tipis are always a great attraction and crowd-puller at any
event. Get even more from your tipi hire with our exciting
tipi-based workshops and activities to suit all ages and interests.
Our activities are run by experienced leaders and include
Native American crafts, face painting, textile painting, storytelling,
tipi living, instrument making, music sessions, recycled crafts,
henna tattoos, felt making, communal art and puppet shows.

Native American crafts
Make your own medicine shield, headdress or dreamcatcher,
or try beadwork.
Textile painting 
Learn how to create beautiful textile designs with potato
printing, stencilling and block printing.
Instrument making
Make your own shakers, rattles and drums using natural
and recycled materials.
Recycled crafts
All sorts of crafts created by using household waste and
natural materials: willow weaving, rag rugs, tin work, papier
mâché, etc.
Puppet shows
Traditional Punch and Judy show. Show lasts approx. 20
minutes. 20 children per session.
Face painting
Great for children of all ages! Using washable face paints.
Henna tattoos
Have your own safe temporary tattoo hand-painted using
natural henna. Tattoos last around a week. A very popular
attraction at shows and festivals, both with adults and children.
Five minutes per tattoo.
Music sessions
A group of talented musicians to play traditional acoustic
Scottish/Irish folk music in a tipi. Sessions to join in with
or just to sit and enjoy.
Storytelling
We work with a number of experienced storytellers specialising
in Native American stories. Sessions last around 20 minutes
throughout the day. 20-30 children per session.
Communal art
Bringing together groups of children to make large-scale
artwork projects, such as sculptures or banners.
prices
A typical day-long workshop event package costs £500
(10 am-4 pm). This includes tipi hire, delivery, erection
and dismantling, and two 2-hour workshop sessions, or four
1-hour sessions with breaks in between. All materials are
provided. Ideally, our sessions cater for a maximum group
size of 10 per session. Most workshops are suitable for children
aged 6 and up.
These prices are based on an 18 ft tipi and typical group
sizes. We also provide larger tipis for activities where larger
crowds are expected, e.g. storytelling or music sessions.
